Ingredients
Bananas:
4
ripe bananas
sliced lengthwise
Sauce:
½
cup
unsalted butter
¾
cup
brown sugar
½
tsp
cinnamon
¼
cup
dark rum
1
tsp
vanilla extract
Topping:
Vanilla ice cream
Chopped nuts
optional
Instructions
Prepare and slice bananas.
Melt butter in skillet over medium heat.
Add brown sugar and cinnamon and stir until smooth.
Cook sauce until slightly thickened.
Add bananas and coat with sauce.
Pour in rum and warm gently.
Flambé carefully if desired.
Stir in vanilla extract.
Let sauce rest briefly to thicken.
Serve over ice cream with toppings.
Notes
Use firm ripe bananas
Do not burn sugar
Flambé carefully
Serve immediately
