Best Butter Cookies
Classic buttery cookies with crisp edges and tender centers.
Ingredients
- 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp salt
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla.
- Mix in flour and salt.
- Shape or pipe dough.
- Bake until lightly golden and cool.
Notes
- Use softened, not melted butter
- Chill the dough for the best shape
- Don’t overbake
