Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:

all-purpose flour

granulated sugar

baking powder

salt
Wet Ingredients:

cup
cold unsalted butter
cubed
½
cup
heavy cream

large egg
1
tsp
vanilla extract
Add-ins:
¾
cup
chocolate chips
semi-sweet or milk
Optional Topping:

tbsp
heavy cream
for brushing

tbsp
coarse sugar
Instructions
Mix dry ingredients.
Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
Add chocolate chips.
Mix wet ingredients and combine into dough.
Shape dough into a circle and cut wedges.
Bake until golden.
Notes
Use cold butter for a flaky texture
Do not overmix the dough
Bake until lightly golden
Best served warm
