Best Chocolate Chip Scones

Buttery bakery-style scones filled with rich chocolate chips.

Ingredients
  

  • Dry Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Wet Ingredients:
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter cubed
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Add-ins:
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips semi-sweet or milk
  • Optional Topping:
  • 1 tbsp heavy cream for brushing
  • 1 tbsp coarse sugar

Instructions
 

  • Mix dry ingredients.
  • Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  • Add chocolate chips.
  • Mix wet ingredients and combine into dough.
  • Shape dough into a circle and cut wedges.
  • Bake until golden.

Notes

Use cold butter for a flaky texture
Do not overmix the dough
Bake until lightly golden
Best served warm
