Best Chocolate Lava Cake

Individual gooey chocolate cakes with molten lava center — restaurant classic, baked in 15 minutes.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs + 2 yolks
  • 6 tbsp flour

Instructions
 

  • 450 °F oven → butter + cocoa ramekins.
  • Melt chocolate + butter.
  • Whisk in sugar, eggs, vanilla → fold flour.
  • Fill ramekins → bake 12–14 min (jiggly center).
  • Rest 1 min → invert → serve with ice cream.

Notes

  • High heat + exact time = perfect lava
  • Make batter ahead → fridge 48 hrs
  • Freeze-filled ramekins → bake +4 min
  • Good chocolate = non-negotiable
  • Ice cream melting in = mandatory
