- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk warm
- ½ –1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- ½ tsp salt adjust to taste
- Optional: pinch of cayenne or garlic powder
- Warm milk prevents lumps
- Whisk constantly
- Adjust the thickness with milk
