Ingredients
  

  • lb Yukon Gold or russet potatoes thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 small onion finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg optional
  • cups shredded cheese cheddar, Gruyère, or a blend

Instructions
 

  • Slice potatoes thinly and sauté aromatics.
  • Mix cream sauce and layer with potatoes and cheese.
  • Slow cook until tender and creamy.
  • Rest briefly and serve.
