homemade or store-bought
Apple Filling:

peeled, cored, and sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

Crumb Topping:

salt

unsalted butter
cold and cubed
Instructions
Toss apples with sugar, spices, and thickeners.
Fill pie crust and top with crumb mixture.
Bake until golden and bubbly.
Cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Use firm apples
Cool fully for clean slices
Tent if browning too fast
Excellent with vanilla ice cream
