Ingredients
Chicken:

chicken thighs or drumsticks

black pepper
Sauce:
½
cup
soy sauce
½
cup
vinegar
6
cloves
garlic
2
bay leaves
1
tsp
whole peppercorns

tbsp
brown sugar
1
cup
water
Garnish:
Sliced green onions
Steamed rice
Instructions
Brown chicken in a pan.
Add sauce ingredients and bring to a boil.
Simmer until tender and reduce sauce.
Rest briefly and serve with rice.
Notes
Do not stir the vinegar immediately
Simmer for tender meat
Adjust sweetness if desired
Serve with rice
