Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb fresh okra sliced into ½-inch rounds
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ¾ cup cornmeal
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • Vegetable or peanut oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Slice and soak okra in buttermilk.
  • Toss in seasoned cornmeal mixture.
  • Fry in hot oil until golden.
  • Drain and season.
  • Serve immediately.
