A classic baked pasta dish with ricotta-filled manicotti shells topped with marinara and cheese.

Ingredients
  

  • Pasta:
  • 12 manicotti shells
  • Cheese Filling:
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Sauce:
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Optional Topping:
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Extra Parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

  • Cook manicotti shells until al dente and drain.
  • Mix ricotta, cheeses, egg, and seasonings.
  • Fill shells and place in a baking dish with sauce.
  • Top with more sauce and cheese.
  • Bake until bubbly and golden.

Notes

Do not overcook pasta shells
Use enough sauce to keep the pasta moist
Let the dish rest before serving
Use a piping bag for easier filling
