Ingredients
Base:

ground beef
or turkey
1
cup
uncooked rice

cups
water or broth
Vegetables:
2
bell peppers
chopped
1
small onion
chopped
3
cloves
garlic
minced
Sauce:
1
can
14 oz diced tomatoes
1
cup
tomato sauce
1
tsp
Italian seasoning
½
tsp
salt
¼
tsp
black pepper
Topping:
1
cup
shredded cheese
cheddar or mozzarella
Instructions
Cook meat and sauté vegetables.
Add rice, tomatoes, sauce, and seasoning.
Transfer to baking dish and bake covered.
Add cheese and bake until melted.
Rest briefly and serve.
Notes
Use enough liquid for the rice to cook
Cover while baking
Adjust seasoning to taste
Store properly
