Ingredients
  

  • Fried Shrimp:
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined (tails off)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornmeal
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Slaw:
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix
  • ¼ cup cilantro chopped
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Creamy Taco Sauce:
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 –2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • For Serving:
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • Lime wedges
  • Optional toppings: avocado pico de gallo, pickled onions

Instructions
 

  • Soak shrimp in buttermilk.
  • Prepare slaw and sauce.
  • Bread and fry shrimp until golden.
  • Warm tortillas.
  • Assemble tacos and serve.
